Update: Roof

Vade just called and yep with the rain they can not get up on the roof.  This is just one of the things I really like about LSDG Roofing.   Unlike the first company I called,  Vade and the team have been on time and kept me up to date with every step.

It has been a long process (since May) trying to get repairs done to the roof and other area's to the outside of my house.  That hail storm did damage.  The original company I called just did not step up to the plate and after a very long and exhausting day trying to get them to come out when they promised I found finally found LSDG.

What is funny is that I had already done all of the background work on LSDG.  BBB checked out, web reviews checked out, local referrals check out and everyone I talked to recommends this company but I went against better judgement and went with company "A" because my insurance guy recommended them (he will not do that again).

So here is the weather report for the next few days.

This is NOT typical Texas weather for July and we have been in a severe drought for a few years so we NEED the rain.  If this forecast holds true then I will have a roof on Friday.  Vade said we are the next house just need a dry day.

So I am going to do the next most logical thing on a raining day... go back to bed!

What a beautiful day for a nap!

Game Storage?

I would love say that it is a beautiful rainy morning but since I am waiting on roofers and rain and roofers do not go together I will say that rain THIS morning is not such a good thing.  So I sit here and wait to see if the roofers will be able to come out and get started.
 Pray.....

Since I have been in a scrapbooking funk as in not really been in my scraproom for a couple of weeks I have been cleaning out closets, organizing travel gear, planning and securing hotel rooms for CTMH functions and Mikes business travel and spending lots of time to Pinterest getting organizational ideas for the house.    Kaela has also been off work for a couple of days and it was nice to just hang out with the kid for a while.

Never fear scrapbooking funks never last long and I come back energized in the end.

One of the Pinterest sites was on game board and game cupboard organization.  Someone took the Iris Scrapbook boxes and put games in them.  I went over the the Container Store yesterday and bought 3.

I placed the Apples to Apples game, Battleship and Ticket to Ride all in their own box but the more I look at them the less I like them in these cases.  Then when I was supposed to be sleeping my brain tells me that I really need to be using the Iris box for keeping my workshop supplies together with no fuss.

So I am sitting here drinking my morning coffee, waiting to see if the roofing company is going to be able to come out (rain stopped) and thinking that I will put all of the games back into their original boxes and use the Iris cases for their original purpose... keeping scrapbooking supplies all nice and neat.

Problem solved!
I will keep you posted about the house repairs.

Picture My Life - Surf's Up meets Grand Canyon

As you know the Perry Family has returned from the Grand Canyon.
The mountain of laundry has been done.  The house is back in order.  All souvenirs are back with the proper children.  And the roofers are scheduled to come in a week (long drawn out story).   I have barely had any time to scrapbook so my scrappy CTMH sisters called me over for a scrap attack night and I started working on the Grand Canyon vacation album.

Now before you say anything I know that I am also working on Kaela's 10 grade album but I have a plan.

I will be using the Picture My Life Surf's Up Scrapbooking Program (PML)

I will be making a hybrid of pocket scrapbooking along with traditional pages using the PML Surf's Up kit and my Surf's Up paper pack and coordinating cardstock.

The other part of this plan is... because PML is so portable I will be working on this album during crop nights or sister consultant scrap attacks.

What did I work on during the scrap attack night?

I have a title page!!!!

And the backside of a title page!

Ok all kidding aside there is a bunch of stitching on these pages and there was food, beverage, dancing, and girl talk to keep us entertained too so I made a huge amount of progress.  Oh and I sorted the 400 photos before getting started too.  I have to do the journaling for the second page but I am ready to start my very first "pocket album"

So far I am very happy.

In the new catalog that will be going live August 1, 2014 there are 13 fabulous kits to choose from.

Each kit comes includes:
1 12 x 12 cover page
10 coordinating Memory Protectors (starter pack)
122 double - sided cards (3x4 & 4x6 inch vertical and horizontal designs)
$24.95 USD

Workshop Dates Are Posted!

You asked for it!

Get ready because along with a new catalog coming out I am also starting a workshop program.  The dates are posted on the right side of the screen.

Each night is from 7pm to 9pm.  We should have time to finish in that time frame.  All classes and crops are in my house and I have a classroom all set up and ready for 6 ladies to come and play.

*****************************************************************
What do you need to do if you want to join in the fun?

1.  Pre-order online your Workshop on the Go kit that we will be using and the coordinating Compliments (stickease).  If we are working on cards then the compliments will not be needed.

2.  Email or call me to get directions to my house and to RSVP for the date (Please).  There may be some components that I am cutting for the group and need a head count.

3.  Come join in on the fun on the date listed.

*****************************************************************
I made the Workshop date different than the Crop night dates because I wanted to focus on using the workshop kit.  My crops are for working on your own projects at your own pace and the workshops will be a instructor lead class.

I will not have extra's of the workshop kits on hand so please order your kit before coming to the workshop.  It takes about 7-10 business days to receive your product  so place your order as early as you can in the month to make sure you have your workshop supplies on the night it is needed.

You do not have to join a club or have a "contract" if you like the kit that month you can come and play or if you need to skip a month it is OK!   If you want to pre-order all of the kits at one time and have them ready to go - that is good too.  The control is in your hands.   I assigned each kit to a month so that I will have time to prepare and plan each night.

I am so excited... Are you?

It Is Here!

What in the world am I talking about?

My box of beautiful new cardstock, re-inkers, and stamp pads!

YOU EVEN GET A SNEAK PEEK!

I placed my order for the cardstock before I even saw the colors - then saw them in the catalog after the fact.  I thought they were pretty in the catalog but seeing them in person is so much better!

Warning:  My photo does not even do them justice!

I am so excited and can not wait to start playing with them.  But before I can play I have to do a little organization.  If I was not a consultant I would just add these colors right into my stash.  But since I am a consultant I have to take the retired papers out of the live cardstock and put it in the retired section then I have to re-label the whole stock.  I keep the retired cardstock until I am sure I no longer have projects or pattern paper that uses that cardstock.

Since I store all of my supplies by rainbow there needs to be some movement in the racks to accommodate the new colors and while I am at it I am making fresh tags for each color.  My other tags are looking like they want to retire.

This year I decided that I wanted to laminate each tag to keep them looking nice longer.  After I cut out each circle I went over to Fed Ex "Kinkos" and used their lamination machine.  I made one mistake... their laminate sheets are much thicker than what you can buy at Staples and I forgot to take that in consideration.

So here I am at Starbucks thinking I will be able to get out of the house for a little bit, blog, have coffee, and cut out little circles and the 1 1/2 inch circle punch will not even make a dent in the sheets.  I am using one that I bought at Hobby Lobby before CTMH came out with one so it might be the punch but I really do not think so - that or I am a weakling....

So I am sitting here listening to a book and hand cutting little circles in the middle of Starbucks and getting the strangest looks from people.  Am I not supposed to craft at Starbucks?

I guess it is a good thing that I put a couple of extra catalogs in my bag just on the off chance someone asks me what I am doing.

Wish me luck  (hee hee)

Now I need to get back to cutting little circles.

Happy Crafting!

Brewed in Ft Worth

Tonight Mike and I are meet up with some friends in a funky little place in Ft. Worth called "Brewed".

Brewed

I really wish that they had a location in Allen.  But we were able to spend a wonderful evening with Russell and Landy and it was not a bad drive into Ft. Worth.  But before we went over there we stopped and picked up a new laptop for me.

I have had the Dell Mini for about 6 years and when we were in the Grand Canyon it was showing the limitations that it has.  Since I will be traveling with Mike more often and running my business and blogging from the road it was time for an upgrade.

I now have myself  a new Macbook Air 11 inch.  When these first came out I drooled over them at the Apple store but could not justify the extra expense so we purchased the more affordable Dell Mini and it has worked for many years as the little laptop that lives under the couch.

The Macbook Air is a little bigger screen wise but much lighter weight wise so that will make it easier to travel with and with a longer battery life I will be able to leave the house! I will now be able to work away from a plug!

Now I will have one more decision to make in the mornings.  Not just what to wear but also where to work.  Home or Starbucks?  I think I am going to like those questions.

Oh and it fits inside my purse... can it get any better?

2014 - 2015 Crop Dates

Why am I giving you Crop dates well into 2015?

Well one of the changes that took place at Convention last month was that the catalog (Annual Inspirations Idea Book)  now going to be active for a full year with two Seasonal Expressions Idea Books

The Annual Inspirations Idea Book will be valid through July 2015 so it feels like a good idea to give you crop dates for the entire live period of this catalog.

Crop Dates

August 9, 2014
October 11, 2014
November 15, 2014

January 10, 2015
February 21, 2015
March 21, 2015
April 18, 2015
May 2, 2015

I am not going to have any Crop nights for June or July 2015 for a very good reason.  My daughter, Kaela will be graduating from high school and I know it is will be a very busy time for us.  I hate having to cancel a crop and there is a very high chance that I would have to cancel for those months.

I am processing catalogs today and they will go live on August 1, 2014 but you can get your copy early and free by stopping by on Crop Night July 19, 2014.

Speaking of crop night:  I have a training event during the day on July 19th in Ft. Worth.  We are still having crop but the training event will end at 4pm.  I will be home asap.  I know most of the time we do not start on time so this should not be a problem but if you come right at 6pm and I do not open the door please know I am on the way.

If you need to contact me my cell is 214-334-4657 and I will be able to give you an ETA.

I will not be mailing out catalogs because starting August 1 you can add a catalog to your online order.  It will be a faster shipping time from CTMH corporate that it is for me to use the media mail option.
