September Crop and Cards

I sat down this morning to download photos from 2 cameras and found that I took over 700 photos during August!  I might have something this year to scrap for Kaela’s 10 grade album.  Smile

Speaking of Kaela she had fun taking photos during the crop last Saturday.

Lynn was packing up to leave for the night but Amy, Carmen and I were still playing!

Not the best picture of me and I have no idea what I was doing!  Smile

I can seat 6 guest with me in the middle but we have never been that full before.  Most nights there is plenty of room to spread out and play.   The room is still a work in progress but it is getting there.

Now on the a card that I made based out of the catalog.

I started working on the card during the August Crop and since I was in a blah kind of creative mood I looked to the catalog for ideas.  The catalog version has itty bitty green dots on the card.  I borrowed Karen's tiny heart hole punch and punched to my heart’s content but when it came down to getting all those tiny hearts to stick I gave up and used stickles dots.

Now if you look closely at the September Crop photos you will see that Carmen and I are both working on the same card designs.  After the plumber gets here to work on the guest bathroom I will post pictures of the cards that I finished that night.

Until then – I need to get some breakfast and crate the puppies to the plumber can come in the house.  Smile

Have a great day!

Pinterest!!!!!

I really really need to stay away from Pinterest for a while.

But I find such good ideas!

Here is the latest…

You are not going batty.  Those are 16 Cricut Carts in one basket!  These are not mine just a photo that I found on Pinterest but I had to do this.

So I went over to my local Staples store and found that the Poly Zip Check Envelopes 1 inch expandability  10 1/4 x 5 1/8 fits PERFECT!

I am also putting my trusty label maker to work.  This means that I can store even more carts in my current storage location.   YEA!

A Day For Me

I am not sure about your house but I am having been very busy for the last couple of months.  I am very glad that starting today I can get back to my normal routine.

I have already gone to Curves this morning and the grocery store.  I have a huge crock pot full of Red Beans and Rice cooking for tonight and the house is clean.  This weekend is Homecoming a Allen High School so it will be busy so I think I will take today to get back into my room and play.

I really need to get started on Kaela’s 8th grade album again.  I am off to play here is the recipe that I am using to make the Red, Beans & Rice.

CROCK POT RED BEANS AND RICE

1 pound red beans

7 cups water

1 green bell pepper, chopped

1 medium onion, chopped

3 celery stalks, chopped

3 garlic cloves, chopped or minced

2 cans Campbell's chicken broth

1-1/2 pounds sausage (I used Richards)

2 tablespoons Creole Seasoning (I use Tony's)

Hot cooked rice

Sort your beans taking out the halves or pieces and check for small rocks or pebbles.  Rinse the beans thoroughly and pour into crock pot.  Add water and chicken broth to beans.  Add your chopped vegetables.

Slice the sausage into bite size pieces.  Add the sausage and the Creole Seasoning to the other ingredients in the crock pot.

I am going to add a cup of Minute Rice to the crock pot about an hour before serving.  But you can make the rice separately and put rice and beans over rice.

Cook for 7 hours on High Setting.

Adding Color to Your Crafts

Pinterest Strikes Again

Ok, so I was sitting waiting for Stickles to dry (again) so I was on Pinterest and saw the greatest idea!

These are just plastic place mats that you pop on the fridge shelves.  They come out easier than the shelves for easy cleaning.  Why did I not think of this?  Oh and the best part… Target had these exact place mats on sale for 58 cents a piece.  I was able to get 6 place mats for the price of 1 – now that is a deal.

Once Kaela gets home from school we will clean out the fridge and put them to good use.  Until then my stickles are dry.  Smile
