A Scrapbooking Mystery

I am reading a set of books that have been a refreshing surprise.  I love to scrapbook when I am home from work but what do I do when I am at work and want to scrap?  Well how about reading a collection of books based on a scrapbooking store?

Joanna Campbell Slan strikes again!  Smile

I found a cute book in the free kindle books section and started reading it last night at work.  I kept getting a feeling that I was missing something so I did a little research and found out that the book I was reading was the second book!  So I went to my favorite bookstore again and downloaded the other 4 books.  Here they are in order.

Paper, Scissors, Death: A Kiki Lowenstein Scrap-N-Craft Mystery

Cut, Crop & Die (A Kiki Lowenstein Scrap-N-Craft Mystery)

Photo, Snap, Shot (A Kiki Lowenstein Scrap-N-Craft Mystery)

Make, Take, Murder (A Kiki Lowenstein Scrap-N-Craft Mystery)

Ready, Scrap, Shoot (A Kiki Lowenstein Scrap-N-Craft Mystery)

Now are these books “thinkers”  I do not think so but they are light enjoyable reads about a hobby we love.

I think I will curl up on the couch on what be a rainy couple of days and read. Smile

Product Review from Crop Night

Last night was crop and we a wonderful time.  My creative energy was not to  par so I made a couple of funky looking cards before settling on a design right from the idea book.

In the process of playing we were able to use some old and new products and review them as a group.

Sanding Kit:

I have had a kit in my crop bag for years and for some reason never opened it!  I normally have a sanding block on my work desk and I guess I never needed to crack open the kit until last night!  What a nice little kit.  It has great sanding power with little effort and beautiful results.

Stamp Scrubber:

This new scrubber is the size of a stamp pad but boy does it clean some stamps!  I was using StazOn ink with the StazOn cleaner on this little power house and almost all of the ink came off my stamp!  I have always had problems getting StazOn off my stamps.  I also love the size because it is small enough to fit into our crop bags without sticking up!

Alcohol Markers:

If you know me you will know that I am not a huge “marker person”.  When they announced the new Alcohol Markers at convention I was more excited for Kaela than me.  She wanted to start using Alcohol Markers in her art and I wanted an affordable way to start her collection. (win –win).  Last night I used them for the first time!  Holy Cow I think I am going to be a “MARKER PERSON”!  They have almost no streaks and are so easy to use.  I have not tried to blend but I think I will have Kaela show me how.  Amy came up with embossing the edges then using the markers to color so I think I will try that soon just to play.  But now I have even more on my wish list to buy.  Smile

Pun Fun Stamp:

This is the stamp set that I was using last night.  I do not have artwork yet (long story) but as soon as I do I will post the final card. I was using the lemon stamp.  Find Pun Fun in your catalog and you will see the card I am working on.  I had so much fun making one that I started making a set Smile

I know it is a sickness…..

Where is My Scraproom?

Holy cow it has been a busy month and I have no artwork to show for it.   I had no idea that Drivers Ed would take up so much of our time!  We have 2 more days of Drivers Ed then school starts Smile

Silly me … I thought that when Kaela started high school my life would slow down.  I could not have been more wrong.  I requested a week of PTO in October and I am going to do nothing but scrap.  I have all of these beautiful supplies and have barely been  able to play.  It is so sad.

A quick reminder that CROP NIGHT is this Saturday at 6:00 pm.

Make It From Your Heart Vol 1

I just opened my white box from CTMH and inside was my new How to Book from CTMH called Make It From Heart Volume 1  I am super excited about this book.

HowTo_CoverFall 2012

This is a soft cover book that is 48 pages of all new artwork for only $7.95!  At first I was concerned about the size then I saw it.  It is the perfect size to pop into your scrap bags for travel to CROPS or even when you are running around town (Doctors office waiting rooms etc.).

It has both scrapbook and card designs so there is something for everyone.

Do not forget that when you place your order that the stamp of the month this month is August 2012 Baroque Borders

Here is a card that I found on Pinterest and have been making this week.

The blog is a sister consultant Elizabeth Mindemann and I loved her use of the August Stamp of the Month with the stamp that coordinates with the Avonlea Workshop on the Go. I would not have thought to combine these two but they look elegant and classy.  I am so glad she shared the design with the world.  Thank you Elizabeth!

If you have ordered from me in the last couple of days you will receive a black card with Ruby accents.

The colors just pop off the page!  LOVE IT!

Pray that the stars align and she will get the night off.  :-)

If you want to add your order to Carmen's party - just add your order to the "August Orders" on my website.  Go to the blog and click the shopping cart, it will take you to my CTMH online shopping website and the "August orders" are toward the bottom of the screen.

Want to have an online party of your own?  Just call or email me and I can show you how!  It is a great way to earn free product without actually having a party in your home.   So even on your busiest months you can have a party and earn FREE scrapbooking supplies.  HOW FUN IS THAT?

Alcohol Markers

I was just trying to place a  personal order for August and on that order was the start of my list for the Alcohol Markers.  It seems the markers are delayed.  From the email that I found from the corporate office they should be in next week but I think that I will just wait until August 15th so that I can take advantage of the National Stamping Month special.

I will have more details on this great special in about a week.

Kaela is one happy camper that we now have Alcohol Markers!
