New Photo Organization

While working with my new book

The Organized & Inspired Scrapbooker

I found that I really needed a new way to organize my photos / memorabilia that is ready to scrap.  I collect the memorabilia in an accordion file by month and then when I am ready to print my photos I have everything nice and together. When my photos are delivered I sit down and do ALL of the journaling at once.  I print on vellum paper because vellum matches any paper I use.  I never have to worry about forgetting dates because I do the journals within a year of taking the photo .  Now since changing the way I am storing each project (year) I have found that I need to keep each month in a large envelope to keep the journal, photos & memorabilia together inside my drawer.

I am not sure if I am explaining myself very well but maybe photos will help?

I think this method will also keep me scrapping because I only have 6 drawers and no room for expansion.   I was going to use the “photo box” idea in the book but I love to enlarge photos and I have over sized memorabilia so photos boxes will not work for me.

I guess you could call my drawers Extra Large Photo Boxes?

I will keep you posted on how well they work.

Easily distracted?

So much for being ahead of the game.  I was doing so well! Christmas shopping is done, gifts are wrapped and I was finishing up on the gift card holders then…. a book came in that I have waited months for.

I was able to put my room back together but only because I have a couple of project that I have to finish soon.  :-)  I took all of my photos out of the shoe boxes and into the Cropper Hopper case.  I need one more case and to get rid of any duplicate photos but that part of the project can wait until after Christmas.  The most important part I finished was getting all of my “current” projects that are ready to scrap better organized.  Next are the pre-digi photos then my attack closet.  I can not go in that closet without something falling on my head lately.

Christmas Prep

It has been a strange couple of weeks at the Perry House, it started off Halloween with me getting sick, and my family knows I am sick 2 ways… I came home early during an overtime shift & I do not feel like or think of scrapping.  (WHAT?)

I missed not only Halloween at the hospital, and that can be as fun (really)  as working during the Jimmy Buffett concert but I also missed a week of work.

Now that I am feeling better it is time to start working on the 17 gift cards holders that I need for this holiday season.  I was able to complete 6 during the November Crop Night.

Birthday Invitations

A couple of weeks ago I said that I was working on birthday invites for a friend at work.  I did not feel it was appropriate to post the finished work until she had a chance to see them.  Well the finished product was delivered and now with her permission I can post the photos.

I printed the “birthday info” on the inside of each card to make it just a little more professional looking but I still wanted to keep the handmade look.  I love them and so did she!
