Card Number 1

Ok so here is the Father’s Day card that I said that I am working on.  This is one of two but I can not show you card number two because Mike reads this blog and he would see his card.  Smile

This is the card that I am going to send to my dad and Mikes dad (BOB).

This card was taken directly from CTMH Founder Jeanette Lynton’s Blog from May 31, 2010.

     (Jeanette's Blog)

Loved the colors, and it used a stamp set that I ordered in 2010 but had trouble using for some reason. Now that I have played with it I have all kinds of ideas running around in my head.   Smile

The stamp set is Wonderful Friend D1422.

This stamp retired but a alternate stamp could be Key Moments B1392.

The colors used are:

The fun part about this card is that all of the card was make from scraps except for the Dutch Blue card base.  So with one sheet of Dutch Blue cardstock  and my scrap buckets I was able to get 2 cards.  I love that!  You will notice that Jeanette clock circle is smaller than mine. I can not free hand a circle to save my life so I used a circle punch and just went with what I had.  So my circle is a little bigger it still works for me. I think Jeanette used second generation stamping for the clock but my Dad is having vision trouble so I wanted him to be able to see his card.

I feel a little more organized now that I have these done.  I am going to stamp them and have them taped to the back of the front door so that when I figure out when Father’s day is this year I can run go put them in the mail box.  Can Google please put holidays on the calendars?

Holidays, Birthdays & Anniversaries

I am a bad person… You would think that after 18 years of marriage I would remember to make my husband an anniversary card!  Oh but it does not stop there… I forgot all of the May birthdays and Mother’s day.  Now in my defense I think it would help if my Google Calendar would have holidays on it. Please Google can you put holidays on your calendars?    Then I might be able to plan a little better but ultimately it is up to me to get this done.

I was in that just waking up, enjoying that I was sleeping in the Thursday before Mother’s day when a radio add said that the following Sunday was Mothers day.  I have never gotten out of bed so fast!  Disaster averted I whipped out a couple of cards and popped them in the mail the same day.   But I forgot to make my Mom’s birthday card for the 14th.  Her gift was in her room ready for her to find but no card.  BAD DAUGHTER!

Mike Birthday came along just 4 days later – I totally forgot to make his card, he was cool with it understanding that I just came off my work rotation so I was still a little brain dead but still BAD WIFE! I did make his day fun and just for him but still no card.

Fast forward 5 more days – it is now May 15th our 18th wedding anniversary.  I walk in the door and there is a card sitting on the kitchen counter, I am thinking that “awe Mike bought me a card because we had a rough night last night”.   NOPE!  It is the pretties anniversary card you have ever seen.  Did I make him a card?  Did I even remember it was our anniversary that morning?  Nope!  BAD WIFE!

And I have never forgotten our anniversary!

At this point he just started laughing and told me that all of the important dates all happen in MAY.   Smile

June is looking like it is going to be just as busy so I am making those Father’s day cards now (hee hee).   I am still working on getting them finished so give me a couple of hours and I will post the final product.    This is one of those times that I am so happy that I have my stamps organized because I was able to find just the right stamp in no time flat.

Back to work for me – I will post photos soon!

Stay tuned for more details.

Mother’s Day 2012

If you are my mother or my mother in law….

DO NOT LOOK AT THIS POST!  Smile

I am not sure what rock I was sleeping under but I realized yesterday that Mother’s Day is coming up fast!  I woke up at 2 am and started to think about what to do.  I pulled out my copy of Originals Card Confidence Book and right there on page 18 was a perfect card for me to make.

I used part of the Dotty For You Collection  Order your Dotty Collection to make this card.

Then dug into my stash of buttons and ribbon to finish it out.  All of the leaves and flowers were cut with the (order your cartridge)  Cricut Art Philosophy Collection.

So in about an hour I was able to make 3 perfect cards to send to the great mothers in my life.

Finally Finished with 2009

Holy Smokes!

It took longer than I thought but I just finished the last page of the Family 2009 album.

The photos are not the best in the world, I need to get a better set up for taking photos of the layouts. This time I tried to get the shots during the daylight but I am still dealing with glare.  Mike and I are kicking around some ideas but while we are thinking here are the finished pages.

So what is on the agenda for the next album?

Kaela’s 8th grade album.  Wish me luck!

I Am Educated

Well at least when it comes to Scrapbooking Smile

I had a goal to get my master’s degree by July in time for the CTMH Convention, I not only was able to finish my master’s but I was also able to finish the PhD program!

Sorry about the glare, I did not think to get a photo before we framed and put it on the wall in My Scraproom.

It makes me smile every time I come into this room.

A new tool….

Shhhhh

Do not tell Mike but I bought a new tool a couple of days ago.  I was thinking about getting it and was about to talk  myself out when Kaela and I were watching TV and found Mikes birthday present.  While ordering said present I needed something to “add  more weight” so Mike would not guess if the box came in while I was at work.

Something for him and something for me.

  It works!

I can not tell you what I bought him because it is not his birthday yet and he reads this blog but the something for me:

It is 606 pages of true inspiration!

I went ahead and took the book to my local Kinkos to have the cover laminated and have a better spiral bound put into place because I have a feeling this book is going to get a ton of use on Crop Nights.

I already have post it notes all over it and several different colors of high lighters on phrases that I want to use.

The other advantage is that I will not have to break out the dictionary as often because the words are already spelled correctly.  Maybe there will be just a little less passing around my finished pages looking for spelling errors. Smile

Yep, your eyeballs are not deceiving you.  I did one (2) page layout and I was awake all night.  Why are Christmas layouts so hard for me?

Stay tuned –

I have two more sections of pictures for our Christmas and then the

Family 2009 album is done.
