So you do not want to have shoppers regret (I know the feeling all too well) then, please place your order before New Years Eve.
I was hopping around blogs again today and found this cute little 3x3 card and feel in love!
Here is the original
Here is my card
I tried to put the spoon on my card too but I kept cutting it in half and stamping it directly on the card just did not look correct to me. And of course I found some things to approve on after I finished my version but I scrap like a cook… you always follow the recipe the first time then “Jenny it up” on the second round.
Supplies used:
Paper: Mistletoe B&T; Cranberry, Black, Colonial White CS
Stamps: A Sip
Inks: Cranberry, Black, Grey Flannel
3D foam tape
Try your hand at making some 3 x 3 cards. They are fun, easy, and make great little thank you cards to have on hand.
As you know I have been very busy since before Halloween getting the Christmas shopping finished. Then just before Thanksgiving I finished wrapping the gifts, finished getting the Christmas cards ready and put up the tree. But guess what I forgot to do?
Out of all my planning and getting stuff done.. I forgot to mail my sisters Christmas box! So I have to finish getting it wrapped and in the mail tomorrow. Hey Bridge, it might be late again :-)
I have a new product in my house… (hee hee)

On October 8 I challenged myself to see how many layouts I could create in one day. I was not worrying about photos or embellishments I was churning out the basic layouts.
Today I finally reached a point that I could get back to Kaela’s 7th grade album and since I bought a ton of “You Rock” paper these pre-made layouts worked out great!
I do not know about you but this “You Rock” paper just screams TEEN! I love that you can use it for boys or girls and it looks wonderful.
Kaela has been doing some volunteer work with Equest and loves every single minute she gets to spend there but we have had a problem getting her to remember what days she is supposed to be there Sooooo, Mom had to make something to help her out.
Front
Back
It is small enough she can pop it in her back pocket and hopefully her favorite horse “Topper” will not try to eat it. It should be easy enough for her just to put an “x” on the days that she does not have to be there. Wish us luck!

While working with my new book
The Organized & Inspired Scrapbooker
I found that I really needed a new way to organize my photos / memorabilia that is ready to scrap. I collect the memorabilia in an accordion file by month and then when I am ready to print my photos I have everything nice and together. When my photos are delivered I sit down and do ALL of the journaling at once. I print on vellum paper because vellum matches any paper I use. I never have to worry about forgetting dates because I do the journals within a year of taking the photo . Now since changing the way I am storing each project (year) I have found that I need to keep each month in a large envelope to keep the journal, photos & memorabilia together inside my drawer.
I am not sure if I am explaining myself very well but maybe photos will help?
I think this method will also keep me scrapping because I only have 6 drawers and no room for expansion. I was going to use the “photo box” idea in the book but I love to enlarge photos and I have over sized memorabilia so photos boxes will not work for me.
I guess you could call my drawers Extra Large Photo Boxes?
I will keep you posted on how well they work.
So much for being ahead of the game. I was doing so well! Christmas shopping is done, gifts are wrapped and I was finishing up on the gift card holders then…. a book came in that I have waited months for.
The Organized & Inspired Scrapbooker
If you are wondering where to find our own copy Amazon has them and to make spending your money even easier:
But BEWARE! This could happen to you:
I was able to put my room back together but only because I have a couple of project that I have to finish soon. :-) I took all of my photos out of the shoe boxes and into the Cropper Hopper case. I need one more case and to get rid of any duplicate photos but that part of the project can wait until after Christmas. The most important part I finished was getting all of my “current” projects that are ready to scrap better organized. Next are the pre-digi photos then my attack closet. I can not go in that closet without something falling on my head lately.
It has been a strange couple of weeks at the Perry House, it started off Halloween with me getting sick, and my family knows I am sick 2 ways… I came home early during an overtime shift & I do not feel like or think of scrapping. (WHAT?)
I missed not only Halloween at the hospital, and that can be as fun (really) as working during the Jimmy Buffett concert but I also missed a week of work.
Now that I am feeling better it is time to start working on the 17 gift cards holders that I need for this holiday season. I was able to complete 6 during the November Crop Night.
(Click the link below for a video of Tresa)
Tresa Black / Gift Card Holder
The artist is a fellow CTMH sister and with this gift card holder she is saving my life! Here is my artwork based on her design:
I will be finishing the rest of my gift card project during the next Crop night on DECEMBER 3, 2010. So if you want to learn in person, COME PLAY WITH ME!
A couple of weeks ago I said that I was working on birthday invites for a friend at work. I did not feel it was appropriate to post the finished work until she had a chance to see them. Well the finished product was delivered and now with her permission I can post the photos.
I printed the “birthday info” on the inside of each card to make it just a little more professional looking but I still wanted to keep the handmade look. I love them and so did she!
Ok, I had to try again to make the belly band for the pizza box for the 3x3 cards. Since I am having trouble with the paper belly bands I found a solution that worked great for me… RIBBON BELLY BANDS.
It took a little longer to make these cards because I could not stop sneezing but once my nose was back to normal I began to play.
The box did not take me as long to make this time because I highlighted the measurements so I could see them easier (duh), you think I would have done that the first time I made a box. But I made these boxes all by myself with no measuring help from Mike.
So here is what I used:
Paper: Perfect Day paper pack (half a sheet)
Juniper cardstock (pulled 2 sheets but did not use it all)
Colonial White Cardstock (almost 1 sheet)
Stamp Set: A little Thanks (D1444)
Ink: Cocoa
Buttons: Craft Buttons “Basic” (Z1206)
Tulip Thread (DMC 3832)
Contraband: Ribbon & Martha Stewart punch
Coffee & Kleenex for Jenny :-)
Here is my mornings work, I had more fun this morning working on these cards. I had to go back and watch the video again but only to make the pizza box cuts again.
The only part that really messed me up was the belly band. After 3 tries I finally gave up and improvised. :-)
I love the way they turned out.
Give it a try!
I found a project this week that I want to try. Vicki Wizniuk is a sister Consultant with CTMH and she posted these cute little 3x3 Thank you cards inside a “pizza box”. She also referenced this Ustream video. The Artist in the video is a SU consultant but she made the instructions so easy that even I could understand them.
Of course I am making mine with CTMH stamps and papers.
Grab a pen and paper because you care going to want to take notes and make these for yourself.
Have fun!
Did I meet you at a recent craft fair?

Oh my goodness it has been a very busy week and weekend.
Kaela had a couple of choir events that called for the Mom/ Dad taxi tag team to be enforced. I thought my days of sitting in a High School cafeteria was over when I finished High School, but nope it has started all over again. She has a another choir event Monday but Dad is going to taxi this one, I have to be at the hospital but that is ok because I do not miss many and she understands that sometimes it is not possible to go to work late.
So after I finished my 3 nights at the hospital it was time for me to get organized for the craft fair that I was in today. I always pack for craft shows a couple of days early because there is nothing worse than forgetting something important and being far from home. This fair however was in my town and it was a blast!
I used Kaela’s 6th grade album as my “demo” album and it caused a ton of people to stop because they saw their child or a friend in my scrapbook. I love working craft shows in my hometown for another reason too, I love feeling a part of the community and in Allen it is so easy to be a part of this great town.
After getting packed and ready to go for the First United Methodist Church Fall Craft Fair it was time for me to get my Workshop Lesson Plans organized.
Since I plan my workshops 4 to 6 months in advance I needed a place to keep all those ideas and plans. Inside is just a page protector for each month and I will add tabs a little later. I would love to keep all of my plans in here because you can change the orientation of the layout and get a whole new page.
Tonight I am working on Birthday invitations for a friend at work.
All of the stamping, sewing and cutting are done I am just sitting here watching a movie and putting them together. But while I am doing this, Callie the calico cat is trying to take off with my ribbon SOOOO I had to come up with a way to keep my ribbon from running down the hall with the cat.
Hence:
I am still able to roll the ribbon of the roll but it is just stiff enough that she can not unroll it like she likes to unroll the toilet paper.
Nah, Nah, Nah, Nah … foiled again kitty cat!
This is the weekend that I wanted to get the demo’s done for our up coming workshops. These cards are from the “alternate” section of the CTMH Website so you will still have the entire workshop guide to use at home and plenty of paper to play with. We will be making scrapbook layouts during workshop time and try to have time to make these after the layouts are done. But just incase you will have the instructions to take home for these designs too.
October Workshop
HOOLLIGANS CARDS
I used:
Very little paper out of the Hooligans Level 2 Paper
The accents pack that comes in the workshop
Opaques Licorice Adhesive Gems
A mixture of Clear Embossing Powder with Prisma Glitter on the Monster
November Workshop
OLIVIA
I used:
Very little paper out of the Olivia Level 2 Paper
The stamp that comes in the workshop
The accents pack that comes in the workshop
My Stickease “Olivia”
And for those of you that are interested how the vintage photo from CVS turned out on the layout, here is a sneak peek at the November Workshop Project.
I should have picked a photo that was 11 inches wide, but I still this this layout turned out GREAT!
Again, I had a “Jenny Moment” on the photo sizes but it never hurts to change a layout design if needed to cover a little oops!
Now I really can not wait to play!
