For Always

A clean and simple “Thanks” leads to a clean and simple “Happy Birthday”.

I was awake and goofy off on the internet this morning about 3am when I found a card that perked my interest on Pinterest.

The country meets lace goes so well!  I love it!

But I wanted a classical, elegant style so after checking my papers I found that I had plenty of “For Always” left over and an idea took shape.

I was able to make 8 of these cards in no time flat.

Getting Ready…..

There is one craft fair that I love being a vendor for… so much so that I will even ask off from work!

It is the:

Allen, Texas

9am to 4pm

Now why am I tell you about this so early?  Because I want you there!

Mark your calendars!

Last year my cards sold like hotcakes but I noticed that I was getting requests for Halloween cards and Christmas cards. I did not have any!  This year is going to be different!

Before I show you what I have so far I want to show you what exploded in my scraproom.

I have been making 12 cards of each design.

Each card will be $2 at the craft fair.

I hope you like them.

Close To My Heart: Through the Years

A tale of two camera’s

A couple of moons ago Mike talked me into going digital.  It took a long time to talk me into finally giving up film. He started me off with a small Fuji point and shoot and I loved it for a couple of years. Then we went on a road trip with family and I started playing with my sister in law’s Nikon D40.

After playing with hers for a while I really  NEEDED a big girl camera.

I went with the Nikon D40x.

My Nikon has traveled with me EVERYWHERE and I continue to love it.

But….

I am going to convention again this year and we leave soon.  I was going to just take my “purse camera”  (Panasonic Lumina)  but it seems the family wants to steal that one for Disney.  That leaves me lugging around the Nikon.  That Nikon gets heavy after a while.

Have you ever been to a convention?

Not only to I walk a ton each day but we carry what we need all day.

So I just bought this….

Canon PowerShot SX500 IS 16.0 MP Digital Camera with 30x Wide-Angle Optical Image Stabilized Zoom and 3.0-Inch LCD $199.00

It is getting great reviews from Amazon.com and it is small enough that I will be able to get the shots that I want without the weight.  Another plus is that we will not have to take the camera backpack with us this year.  Do you know how hard it is to hide camera equipment in an SUV?

I hope I like it as much as I think I will.  My mother in law as a Canon and she takes her around the world.  Wish me luck!
