You know that feeling when all of your household chores are done and you have a little free time. Yes, I know it is a rare thing in my house too. In fact I "should" be cooking dinner but I forgot to take the pork chops to defrost so they will give me the pocket of time I need to write this post. But I had a little bit of that feeling today so I took advantage of it. I can always be an adult and do my chores tomorrow.
You guys would be very proud of me because I recently upgraded my original Cricut to the Cricut Air 2. I have been dragging my feet on getting an upgrade because the Cricut and I have not been friends in the past. But since CTMH is transitioning over to digital cartridges my hand was forced. So while holding my nose I ordered the Cricut Air 2 and after today I am so glad I did!
Design Space was so easy to use that I was able to do it myself and that is something I have NEVER been able to do so I am feeling rather accomplished over here. I only sacrificed one sheet of cardstock and that was my fault - not the machines.
I woke up this morning feeling like I wanted to be on the beach. It has been over 109 degrees here in Texas for the past week and we are all starting to melt. But since it was not in the cards to go to the beach because I live in North Texas, I decided to scrap some beach photos.
I pulled out my Make It From The Heart Vol 3 and found a layout design that I liked but it seemed a bit flat for my mood today. Waves.... I needed waves on my layout - enter the Cricut. Then after I cut all of those waves I needed to add color so I used my reinkers to sponge the color on the waves. It was a messy job but I had fun.
The No Worries paper pack (retired and left over paper from the Workshop Your Way kit), Cashmere reinker, and Glacier reinker were the main stars in this layout. Then because the waves and adhesive was so heavy I needed to do a little hand stitching to make sure the photos could stay where I put them. After this layout I might need to order another bottle of Glacier reinker but after the fun I had it will be worth it.
