January Day Workshop - Charlotte

January Workshop:
Charlotte

Heads Up - Changes are coming.....

In an effort to give you more bang for your buck - CTMH is phasing out the Workshops on the Go and replacing it with Workshops Your Way.  This is going to be a bit confusing for the rest of the catalog cycle but I will do my best to navigate during this process.

All of the workshops in the "Yearly Catalog" will be Workshops on the Go Style.
All of the workshops in the "Seasonal Catalog" will be Workshops Your Way Style.

Day Workshop January 19, 2015
10 am to 12 pm

Evening Workshop January 21, 2015
7pm to 9pm

Yep you guessed it... January will be the Workshops Your Way.
Here is what you will need.

Getting ready for the holidays

Good Morning

After thinking that I was not into the Christmas spirit this year and pretty much deciding that maybe I was just the Grinch (just not feeling it) - something has happened and I have become a  baking fool over the last couple of weeks.

The kitchen is not normally my happy place.  Oh I cook dinner and it might be worth eating if I get lucky and I am the person that always signs up for the paper products at the pot luck.  Not only have I been in a cooking and baking fool but it has tasted good too!   Kaela has even been eating what I cook!

 Maybe I am just dreaming.....

I think I have all of my shopping done - and the gift to my brother and sister (families) have been shipped.  The Christmas cards are mailed and the gifts that I am responsible for have been wrapped.

Sounds like I might have a day that I can just play in my Crop Room.
*********************************************************************
Speaking of playing before I forget... I have signed up for:

Scrapbook Garage Sale

9:00 AM to 2:00 PM.

I am keeping my fingers crossed that I can be one of the vendors.  Since this is a Garage Sale all items will be discounted that means all of my retired paper and stamps will be priced to go.  I will let you know for certain when I get confirmation that I am a vendor - until then pencil in the date in your planners.

Funny 12 Days of Christmas: Decorating the Boss

Designer Mini Frames

I have been sitting on another secret.  I have another layout that I worked on during the Dallas Making Connections event that I have been saving just for today.
Want to see?

This layout features the Designer Mini Frames.
 (Holiday Expressions Catalog page 31).

I know you are wondering why there are little sheets of paper popping up out of the frames.

Two reasons:
1. To show that you can slide photos in after sticking the frames on the page.
2. To remind me what size photo goes inside the frame.

It is such a simple layout but one that will stand out with black and white photos in the frames and it took just a few minutes to put together.

Photos will be in the frames and on the mats that are cut from Smoothie cardstock.  I left room for journaling that will be typed out and printed on vellum so that it matches the layout.

The stamp set that was used is In Review (C1622)

To be honest... when I first saw this stamp I was thinking about chronological scrapping.  Yearly family albums or a child's' school year album - not once did my brain think outside of the box to use the images other than for a "time" reference.   So when the instructions said to just use the quatrefoil pattern image I was scratching my head.

Now remember I did not work on the layouts during the Making Connections event because I was being a social butterfly so I had to stop and READ the directions... it was a hard thing to do.  (hee hee)

In the end I have a beautiful non-traditional holiday layout that I can not wait to use in my personal albums.  Let me give you the supply list so you can make one of your own.

Happy Scrapping!

Hybrid Scrapbooking

Say What?

Hybrid scrapbooking is combining two different forms of scrapbooking.

In just one layout I am going to combine:  decorative scrapbooking and pocket scrapbooking - yes together....

I have been holding this secret ever since October when I went to the the CTMH Making Connections event here in Dallas.  I have been wanting to blab but I also knew that I would be featuring the White Pines paper pack this month during our workshops and wanted to give you just one more peak at some artwork.

These are the layouts we worked on during our meeting.  Ok well all of the other ladies worked on theirs but I was too busy running around taking photos and talking so I finished my layouts at home during the October crop night.

Supplies Used:
White Pines Paper Packet X7200B
White Pines Complements X7200C
Red Enamel Gems Z3090
Picture My Life - White Pines Z3176
Retired Marker Colors (use what you have)

I left some room on the layouts for journalling and a photos but the more I look at the finished project the more I love it! You can use the layouts in the same album as your pocket scrapbooking while you are working on your December photos.

December Photos?

Yes!

Take a couple of photos a day, it does not have to be anything major, just life and at the end of December take the photos that you have printed along with the above layouts and pop them into your pocket album using the Picture My Life cards.  It is a super FAST way to get your holiday memories in an album licitly split!

This makes me so happy!
