Back In The Saddle

Well after my road trip vacation with my mother in law and then the craft fair yesterday I felt that it was time to get back in the saddle and get creating.  I have a small Bit – O – Honey addiction that I need to deal with that I picked up on the road trip and thought that card making would help.
Nope!  Just put another one in my mouth.  My dentist will be very happy Smile
Anyhoo- My aunt just placed another order (hot dog!) for cards and this time she needs “tween” and “boy” cards.  This is going to be a real challenge because those are the hardest cards for me to make.
But I accept the challenge!
This is what I came up with today.

Wait – not this photo…
that is what my desk looks like when I am sketching the card design.

Here we go… the finished card.  Did you notice that there is not an “inspiration” photo?  This one came from my own head.  Kaela has been pushing me to work on my own designs so I am giving it a try.   The particular child I am thinking of LOVES big trucks so I think this card will hit the mark.
You will notice the Sweet Leaf cardstock in the first photo.  I was going to stamp the sentiment in Sweet Leaf and even heat embossed it to see if I could make it pop but the Sweet Leaf was just to light.  So I heat embossed the same sentiment in Saddle and it worked like a charm.
Supplies I used:
Saddle Cardstock
Saddle Ink Pad
Goldrush Cardstock
Colonial White Cardstock
Clear Embossing Powder (retired)
Assorted Brads (retired)
Stamp set -

Item Number: D1564    $17.95
This design is done for the night and I think it is time for bed.  I have to go to the Volkswagen dealer tomorrow morning to get a new tail light for Kaela’s car.  The mailbox is fine  Smile  She just lost a tail light that needed to be replaced anyway.  She will be in school so I am taking her car over for her.
Sweet Dreams
