Oklahoma Thank You

It has been a very interesting week!  Last Saturday was crop night so I decided that I needed to wash the puppies.  Everybody outside… soap, towels, teen, puppies, mommy.  Everybody was present.  I was washing Radar and stood up so that I could get him rinsed and lost my balance – fell backwards and landed on the edge of the brick fire pit.  One broken tailbone later and the puppies were clean.

Great – it is crop night and I could not sit…. now what?  Tough I am having crop!  I was not able to sit for very long and would have to get up and walk around but I was able to get some creative time in and I was able to play with my friends.

I had to work Sunday, Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday and with the help of my work buddies I made it.  The guys pulled me up out of my chair when I was stuck and fashioned a donut pillow out of blankets when I needed one.   It did not take me long to run to the store to find a donut pillow Smile  that thing is a life saver.

Finally – my Oklahoma Tornado Relief stamp came in the mail and I was able to sit and get some cards made.  I used the Retired Originals Card Confidence book page  the First Impressions card.  Then I grabbed my Dreamin’ paper pack – now I was cooking!

With the pattern and couple of sheets of paper I will be able to make

10 thank you cards.

My other excitement for the week is a new tool I found.

We R Memory Keepers - Envelope Punch Board

I have never been able to make my own envelopes and now with this board I am able to make over 60 different sizes!  This is a card makers dream!

I found mine on Amazon.com.

Use Those Scraps

I found the cutest card on Pinterest today and it featured scraps!

image

The artist is Alison Spellman and I love her use of scraps!

So I pulled out my trusty  CTMH 1 1/4 circle punch and some really old papers and went to town.

I made 2 cards for each paper pack and a stamp from Ali Edwards but what a fun way to use up those last scraps of a paper pack and it only took a couple of hours to make 12 cards even with the hand stitching!

On a side note:  I think I wore out my circle punch!  Smile

Rudolph Run

If you following me on Facebook then you know that I was rear ended on Monday morning coming home from work.  I am fine and the Mini Cooper I think only has minor damage.  I will be taking it for the insurance inspection today and hopefully over to the Mini dealership body shop after that for repairs.

So far the process has been really smooth so I am praying that it continues to be a – can I say pleasant experience?  Well that comes close… the other guys insurance so far was been easy to work with so lets pray that keeps up.

That being said – my plans to scrap with week have gone by the wayside.  I only have 3 days off and those have been spent dealing with the car.  But I did take some time this morning to take pictures of the last layout I worked on last week.  I am still working on a good lighting solution so bear with me there.

They layout alone was pretty easy.  I used s template from Cherish and all was well – until I felt the need to add stitching!  That took a long time because I went a little overboard.  Smile   But on the up side…. I do not have to worry about the adhesive failing!

This was one of those layouts that you pop a movie in and just enjoy the process.  I had so much fun just relaxing while working on the stitching.

National Scrapbooking Day!

Happy National Scrapbooking day!!!!

YEA! Guess what I am going to be doing all day? I did all of my chores yesterday so that I could spend today catching up on listening to my Paperclipping Roundtable podcast and scrapbook till my fingers fall off.

So I finished working on Kaela’s Equest layouts this week and posted those photos. I the layouts to the album and was moving on to the next set of photos when I noticed some embellishments that I forgot to put on the Equest layouts. Normally this would not bother me but I bought these embellies for the sole purpose of these layouts. What did I do? I re-did the pages! I did not have to completely re-do them just a smart remodel.

So here are the Equest layouts 2.0

There is some glare from the lights on the photos but you get the general idea. I am not sure if my redneck background is coming out but I think she looks great in a pair of boots. Smile

Once I was finished re-vamping Equest I moved on to Christmas Choir field trip photos. I was at a loss as to how to put these together because I do so many choir layouts for this kid so I pulled out my Cherish how to book and let my imagination wander. Once I had the general idea of combining 2 different layouts on one 2-page spread I was off and running.

I guess the moral of the story is … do not be afraid to pull apart your layouts and do them again if something is bothering you.

It is only paper – It is only paper – It is only paper

Keep repeating…
